Future Forest Company

Born in the Lake District, the fells are in our blood. Our love for the environments that make our trails and fells such a unique place to be underpins the whole VÅGA ecosystem, being one of the pillars on which we have built the brand. We believe it is our responsibility to care for these special places and guarantee their future, not only for our own enjoyment but for the health of the planet and the benefit of our growing running community.
As a part of our commitment to the planet and our favourite natural spaces, we are partnered with the Future Forest Company to support them in their established tree planting projects in Scotland.
How will we do this? A percentage of every cap sale is donated to the Future Forest Company in an effort to offset some of the carbon emissions produced during the manufacturing and delivery of every VÅGA product.
Who are the Future Forest Company? In 2020, Jim Mann and Jade Rein co-founded The Future Forest Company with the aim of restoring nature and combating climate change. Their motivation stemmed from the realisation that our planet was in crisis and action needed to be taken. In Jim’s words, ‘Our planet is in crisis, and we simply had to do something.’
By July of that year, they had acquired the picturesque Glenaros Estate on the Isle of Mull. Over the next two years, their efforts expanded as the Future Forest Company acquired additional properties across Scotland and Northern England to restore and reforest.
Their dedicated team of experts has been actively working on these sites, restoring peatlands, planting trees and wildflower meadows, and protecting the habitats of endangered species. In 2023, the Future Forest Company team reached the significant milestone of planting one million trees, thanks to the support of corporate tree planting partners and individual sponsors. This brief overview highlights the key milestones in the Future Forest Company journey, from land management to the preservation of rare lichen, from receiving prestigious awards to successfully bringing species back from the brink of extinction.

Why do we run? At Team VÅGA, we run because it makes us feel relaxed, free and fantastic both physically and mentally. Mental health is at the core of our running pursuits, using our time moving through and exploring the natural world to escape the stresses of day to day life and reconnect with ourselves.
Mental health isn’t a trend, 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem and for some it’s a 365 day journey. This is why since day 1, VÅGA has been proud to support Mind Charity and we aren't planning on stopping anytime soon.
How will we do this? A percentage of all sales is donated to Mind Charity to support their invaluable work in fighting mental health struggles, making sure nobody has to suffer mental ill-health alone.
Who are Mind? For 70 years, Mind have been committed to making sure that everyone experiencing a mental health problem can access the support they need and is treated with the respect they deserve.
Through public campaigns, influencing decision makers and the services local Minds deliver in communities across England and Wales, Mind have touched millions of lives.
